Sonnet. Written Before Re-read King Lear Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABCADEFEGG

O golden tongued Romance with serene luteA
Fair plumed Syren Queen of far awayB
Leave melodizing on this wintry dayB
Shut up thine olden pages and be muteA
Adieu for once again the fierce disputeA
Betwixt damnation and impassion'd clayB
Must I burn through once more humbly assayC
The bitter sweet of this Shakespearian fruitA
Chief Poet and ye clouds of AlbionD
Begetters of our deep eternal themeE
When through the old oak forest I am goneF
Let me not wander in a barren dreamE
But when I am consumed in the fireG
Give me new Phoenix wings to fly at my desireG
