| Are slowly eaten bit by bit | N |
| No wonder Jim detested it | N |
| No wonder that he shouted Hi | O |

| Ponto he ordered as he came | R |
| For Ponto was the Lion's name | R |
| Ponto he cried with angry Frown | S |

| The Lion made a sudden stop | T |
| He let the Dainty Morsel drop | T |
| And slunk reluctant to his Cage | U |
| Snarling with Disappointed Rage | U |
| But when he bent him over Jim | A |
| The Honest Keeper's Eyes were dim | A |
| The Lion having reached his Head | V |
| The Miserable Boy was dead | V |
