Poet's note: Story of the Poem This poem is about meeting someone who came into my life quietly but changed a lot inside me. She didn’t come like chaos or drama — she came like peace. Being with her felt healing, like parts of me that were broken slowly started to feel okay again. For some time, everything felt right without trying too hard. But life happened. We got busy. Not busy in a dramatic way — just the kind where days pass, messages get shorter and feelings don’t get checked on enough. There was no big fight, no clear ending. Things just slowly slipped away until one day we realized we weren’t the same anymore. And by the time we noticed, it was already over. When and For Whom I Wrote This Poem I wrote this poem after she had already left my life. I wasn’t writing it to impress anyone or to blame her. I wrote it because I needed to let the feelings out. It’s written for her, but also for me — for the version of me that still needed closure and understanding. Feelings I Wanted to Express I wanted to express how soft love can be and how painful it is when something beautiful ends quietly. The poem holds feelings of love, sadness, confusion and acceptance. There’s no anger in it — just the weight of realizing that something real didn’t last and not knowing if it mattered the same way to both of us. What This Poem Means to Me This poem means acceptance. It reminds me that some people come into our lives not to stay forever, but to change us. She made me feel seen and even though she’s gone, that feeling didn’t disappear. Writing this helped me understand that losing someone doesn’t erase what they gave you. This poem is me saying goodbye — not loudly, not angrily — just honestly.
