Riviera Revenge
Authors: George Cavendish
Publisher: Trafford Publishing
Published Date: 2015-08-05
Categories: Fiction
Riviera Revenge picks up where Riviera Terminus left off, but nearly eight years later. The world has changed and another major geopolitical event is imminent, the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The lives of Lucas, George, Nathalie, Amra, and Jrme are linked already through their traumatic clash with the maniacal Vuk Racik whom they managed to kill, and therefore indirectly to his twin brother Krazicek. The build up to the Iraqi war sets the actors in motion, provoking intersections in their respective time and space which might not otherwise have occurred. It will not be long before they end up breathing down each others necks, Krazicek bent on revenge for his brothers death, Lucas on another money laundering expedition which takes him to Costa Rica. Violence, unexpected infidelity and mayhem ensue.

Political Tolerance and American Democracy
Authors: John L. Sullivan, James Piereson, George E. Marcus
Publisher: University of Chicago Press
Published Date: 1993-05-15
Categories: Philosophy
This path-breaking book reconceptualizes our understanding of political tolerance as well as of its foundations. Previous studies, the authors contend, overemphasized the role of education in explaining the presence of tolerance, while giving insufficient weight to personality and ideological factors. With an innovative methodology for measuring levels of tolerance more accurately, the authors are able to explain why particular groups are targeted and why tolerance is an inherently political concept. Far from abating, the degree of intolerance in America today is probably as great as it ever was; it is the targets of intolerance that have changed.

When I Came Home
Authors: George Brinley Evans
Publisher: Parthian Books
Published Date: 2012-11-01
Categories: Biography & Autobiography
Coming back home from the Far East after years serving in Burma, George Brinley Evans returns to his home in Banwen, Dulais Valley, South Wales, to find that the ex- servicemen are being treated as traitors - 'Churchill's army' - by the ferociously Communist self-appointed commissars of the local colliery. But that's not all George has on his plate. There's the fish and chip shop, the ice cream round, the Billiard Hall, the boxing club, Saturday afternoon football in bombed-out Swansea, and getting enough black market coupons off Jack Bach the butcher's wife to buy a suit and marry beautiful, dark-haired Peggy the Papers. As a painter, George has been praised for 'just painting what he sees', and this book is an astonishingly clear-eyed look back over a long lifetime in one community. Conversations fifty or sixty years ago, tales of drunken colliers and runaway ponies, births and deaths, trips to London and Cardiff, all are remembered and told with vivid clarity and directness.

The Invisible Soul
Authors: George Beasley
Publisher: Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
Published Date: 2017-09-14
Categories: Family & Relationships
Author George Beasley listened to the voices of condemnation, fear, and guilt for many years. Invisible to so many, his pain and suffering was real. Writing this book, George discovered the mask he had worn for so many years was really an invisible soul that directed his every step. It's those small voices that spoke ever so softly condemning him, filling him full of guilt, and invoking fear that paralyzed him. The release of his documented life, his file, would reveal the inception of his invisible soul. An invisible soul-those still small voices that speak destruction into our lives. It's time to rise up and defeat this invisible soul that seeks to destroy us.
