Eric Bana Books, Eric Bana poetry book Healers in the Night Authors: Eric de Rosny
Publisher: Wipf and Stock Publishers
Published Date: 2004-05-10
Categories: Religion
Mysterious the sway of the masters of the night! Of what unsubjugated region of myself had they taken possession? Did they occupy the realm where dreams are born and bred? Had they seized the spot where the most contrary desires mingle - the one to kill and the one to love, the one to make suffer and the one to adore, the phantasms born of water and fire, blood and death, in a perpetual maelstrom like the one I had seen with my own eyes in the course of the night seances at the hands of the 'ngangas'? There must be a hidden relationship, I thought, a secret pact, between the 'ngangas' and myself. Nothing else could have explained the fascination I felt when I was among them. Since childhood I had always wanted to reach other cultural worlds - to get as far away as I could from my own roots. And now that I had done so, I had the feeling of having arrived in a familiar land. From the book

Eric Bana Books, Eric Bana poetry book Seafaring Labour Authors: Eric W. Sager
Publisher: McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP
Published Date: 1989-04-01
Categories: History
Sager argues that sailors were not misfits or outcasts but were divorced from society only by virtue of their occupation. The wooden ships were small communities at sea, fragments of normal society where workers lived, struggled, and often died. With the coming of the age of steam, the sailor became part of a new division of labour and a new social hierarchy at sea. Sager shows that the sailor was as integral to the transition to industrial capitalism as any land worker.

Eric Bana Books, Eric Bana poetry book From Cosmology to Ecology Authors: Eric Paul Jacobsen
Publisher: Peter Lang
Published Date: 2005
Categories: Philosophy
This book traces the development of the monist world-view in Germany from the Age of Goethe to the 1920s. Originally a core idea in the philosophy of Spinoza, monism, the idea of a universe of one substance that is both mind and matter, inspired many German thinkers from Goethe to Fechner, especially the infamous social Darwinist Ernst Haeckel. This study contrasts Haeckel's monism with the more benign monist world-views of his predecessors and of his socialist and left-liberal contemporaries and followers, above all Bruno Wille and Wilhelm Bölsche.

Eric Bana Books, Eric Bana poetry book A Theory of Distributed Number Authors: Myriam Dali, Eric Mathieu
Publisher: John Benjamins Publishing Company
Published Date: 2021-08-15
Categories: Language Arts & Disciplines
The objective of this book is to develop a deeper understanding of the form and interpretation of number. Using insights from Generative syntax and Distributed Morphology, we develop a theory of distributed number, arguing that number can be associated with several functional heads and that these projections exist depending on the features they specify. In doing so, we make a strong claim for a close mapping between the syntactic structure and the semantics in the noun phrase, since each node corresponds to a different interpretation of number. Despite some technical implementations, the book is accessible to linguists working outside any particular syntax-semantic framework, since we propose generalizations that are applicable in many, if not all, models of grammar. The book focuses on Arabic, but also discusses a number of languages including English, French, Ojibwe, Blackfoot, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Turkish, Persian, and Western Armenian.
