In Morte: Ii: On The Death Of Cardinal Colonna And Laura Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACBCBCB

The noble Column the green Laurel treeA
Are fall'n that shaded once my weary mindB
Now I have lost what I shall never findB
From North to South from Red to Indian SeaA
My double treasure Death has filched from meA
Which made me proud and happy midst my kindB
Nor may all empires of the world combinedB
Nor Orient gems nor gold restore the keyA
But if this be according to Fate's willC
What may I do but wander heavy souledB
With ever downcast head eyes weeping stillC
O life of ours so lovely to beholdB
In one brief morn how easily dost thou spillC
That which we toiled for years to gain and holdB
