Shepherd Of Israel. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JFKF LMNO PJFJ QRSR

Shepherd of Israel o'er Thy foldA
How sweet Thy guardian careB
To them invisible indeedC
Yet present everywhereB
-
Thy crook still points to pastures greenD
When rugged paths they seeE
Beside still waters bids them restF
And cast their care on TheeE
-
The stranger's voice thou Lord canst teachG
Their watchful ears to knowH
And make their peace their heavenly peaceI
Like boundless waters flowH
-
When round this thorny world we strayJ
And find no place of restF
Then come like doves unto the arkK
Faint wearied and oppressedF
-
Thy gentle hand is soon put forthL
Each wanderer to receiveM
Thou bindest up the broken heartN
And bidd'st the sinner liveO
-
Why should we fear the storms of timeP
Thy word their force can stayJ
Enough be still the high behestF
Which winds and waves obeyJ
-
Thy will be done can calm the soulQ
By fearful tempests drivenR
The holiest anthem sung on earthS
The highest heard in HeavenR
