Things Worth While Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GBGB BBBB HIHI

To sit and dream in a shady nookA
While the phantom clouds roll byB
To con some long remembered bookA
When the pulse of youth beats highB
-
To thrill when the dying sunset glowsC
Through the heart of a mystic woodD
To drink the sweetness of some wild roseC
And to find the whole world goodD
-
To bring unto others joy and mirthE
And keep what friends you canF
To learn that the rarest gift on earthE
Is the love of your fellow manF
-
To hold the respect of those you knowG
To scorn dishonest pelfB
To sympathize with another's woeG
And just be true to yourselfB
-
To find that a woman's honest loveB
In this great world of strifeB
Gleams steadfast like a star aboveB
The dark morass of lifeB
-
To feel a baby's clinging handH
To watch a mother's smileI
To dwell once more in fairylandH
These are the things worth whileI
