The Rubaiyat Of A Kentuckian Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABA CCDC EEFE GGHG

Wake for the sun that scatters into flightA
The poker players who have stayed all nightA
Drives husbands home with reeling steps and thenB
Gives to the sleepy cops an awful frightA
-
I sometimes think that never blows so redC
The nose as when the spirits strike the headC
That every step one takes upon the wayD
Makes him wish strongly he were home in bedC
-
The moving finger writes but having pullE
You think that you can settle things in fullE
But when you interview the Police JudgeF
You find that you have made an awful bullE
-
Some nonsense verses underneath the boughG
A little booze a time to loaf and thouG
Beside me howling in the wildernessH
Would be enough for one day anyhowG
