And breathe the balmy country air | A |
And whittle a stick and look at the hosses | B |
Discuss the farmer's profit and losses | B |

We'll take a look at the country stock | C |
And drink some milk from a dairy crock | C |
Look at the pigs and admire the chickens | B |
And try to forget it's hot as the dickens | B |

Forget there are any political rings | B |
Just think of the butter and eggs and things | B |
So wash off the buggy and hitch up the mare | A |
And we'll all go out to the county fair | A |
