When We Understand The Plan Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEFGG HHIIJJ KKLLMM NNOOPQ

I reckon when the world we leaveA
And cease to smile and cease to grieveA
When each of us shall quit the strifeB
And drop the working tools of lifeB
Somewhere somehow we'll come to findC
Just what our Maker had in mindC
-
Perhaps through clearer eyes than theseD
We'll read life's hidden mysteriesD
And learn the reason for our tearsE
Why sometimes came unhappy yearsF
And why our dearest joys were briefG
And bound so closely unto griefG
-
There is so much beyond our scopeH
As blindly on through life we gropeH
So much we cannot understandI
However wisely we have plannedI
That all who walk this earth aboutJ
Are constantly beset by doubtJ
-
No one of us can truly sayK
Why loved ones must be called awayK
Why hearts are hurt or e'en explainL
Why some must suffer years of painL
Yet some day all of us shall knowM
The reason why these things are soM
-
I reckon in the years to comeN
When these poor lips of clay are dumbN
And these poor hands have ceased to toilO
Somewhere upon a fairer soilO
God shall to all of us make clearP
The purpose of our trials hereQ
