the floorA
An' throws me up an' catches meB
When I come down an' then says heB
'Well how'd you get along to dayC
An' were you good an' did you playC
An' keep right out of mamma's wayC
An' how'd you get that awful bumpD
Above your eye My what a lumpD
An' who spilled jelly on your shirtE
An' where'd you ever find the dirtE
That's on your hands And my Oh myF
I guess those eyes have had a cryF
They look so red What was it prayC
What has been happening here to day 'G
-
An' then he drops' his coat an' hatH
Upon a chair an' says 'What's thatH
Who knocked that engine on its backI
An' stepped upon that piece of track '-
An' then he takes me on his kneeB
An' says ' What's this that now I seeB
Whatever can the matter beB
Who strewed those toys upon the floorA
An' left those things behind the doorA
Who upset all those parlor chairsJ
An' threw those blocks upon the stairsJ
I guess a cyclone called to dayC
While I was workin' far awayC
Who was it worried mamma soK
It can't be anyone I know '-
-
An' then I laugh an' say 'It's meB
Me did most ever'thing you seeB
Me got this bump the time me trippedL
An' here is where the jelly slippedL
Right off my bread upon my shirtE
An' when me tumbled down it hurtE
That's how me got all over dirtE
Me threw those building blocks downstairsJ
An' me upset the parlor chairsJ
Coz when you're playin' train you've gotM
To move things 'round an awful lot '-
An' then my Pa he kisses meB
An' bounces me upon his kneeB
An' says 'Well well my little ladN
What glorious fun you must have had '-
