The Worry-chaser Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GGHHAA CCIIFF

COME here to me little lassie of threeA
And get in your place on your old daddy's kneeA
Put those chubby arms round where they nightly belongB
And cling to my neck for the day has gone wrongB
And I need you I need you to scatter awayC
All the cares and the griefs of a troublesome dayC
-
Let's sing the old songs and the old lullabiesD
Till the light of joy burns once again in my eyesD
Let's ride up to London at doublefast trotE
Till all of my worries and cares are forgotE
Let's romp on the floor and make merry tonightF
For you little girl can put everything rightF
-
You tickle my ribs and I'll tickle your toesG
You tug at my beard and I'll tug at your noseG
I'll blow down your neck and you blow down mineH
Then we'll ride pig a back and do everything fineH
And the first thing I know I'll be gay and care freeA
Come little lassie climb onto my kneeA
-
I was cross I was mean through the heat of the dayC
I gave up to despair as my plans went astrayC
But it's all over now and I want to forgetI
The troubles that caused me to worry and fretI
And you are my sunshine my source of delightF
So come to your dad and make everything rightF
