The Truth About Envy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEFGGHHIIJJKK LLMM

I like to see the flowers growA
To see the pansies in a rowA
I think a well kept garden's fineB
And wish that such a one were mineB
But one can't have a stock of flowersC
Unless he digs and digs for hoursC
My ground is always bleak and bareD
The roses do not flourish thereD
And where I once sowed poppy seedsE
Is now a tangled mass of weeds 'F
I'm fond of flowers but admitG
For digging I don't care a bitG
I envy men whose yards are gayH
But never work as hard as theyH
I also envy men who ownI
More wealth than I have ever knownI
I'm like a lot of men who yearnJ
For joys that they refuse to earnJ
You cannot have the joys of workK
And take the comfort of a shirkK
I find the man I envy mostL
Is he who's longest at his postL
I could have gold and roses tooM
If I would work like those who doM
