The Toiler Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB ADED FGHG IJKJ

He swore that he'd be true to herA
If she would only marry himB
That as his wife throughout his lifeC
She'd never know a moment grimB
-
He vowed that he would toil for herA
That she should wear the latest thingsD
He'd robe in furs that form of hersE
And deck her hands with diamond ringsD
-
He promised her a motor carF
And maids to answer her commandsG
In water hot with dish and potH
He swore she'd never dip her handsG
-
Oh fine the promises he madeI
Oh vows by which her heart was stirredJ
And since that time it's been a crimeK
The way he's worked to keep his wordJ
