The Song Of Loved Ones Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCAD EEAAFFA

The father toils at his work all dayA
And he hums this song as he plods awayA
'Heigho for the mother and babe of threeB
Who watch at the window each night for meB
Their smiles are ever before my eyesC
And never the sound of their voices diesC
But ever and ever they seem to sayA
'Love waits for you at the close of day ''D
-
At home a mother is heard to croonE
To a little babe this simple tuneE
'Heigho for the father who toils to dayA
He thinks of us though he's far awayA
He soon will come with a happy treadF
And stooping over your trundle bedF
Your little worries he'll kiss awayA
Love comes to us at the close of day '-
