Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGDGD FHFHGDGD

A touch of the plain and the prairieA
A bit of the Motherland tooB
A strain of the fur trapper waryA
A blend of the old and the newB
A bit of the pioneer splendorC
That opened the wilderness' flatsD
A touch of the home lover tenderC
You'll find in the boys they call Pat'sD
-
The glory and grace of the mapleE
The strength that is born of the wheatF
The pride of a stock that is stapleE
The bronze of a midsummer heatF
A blending of wisdom and daringG
The best of a new land and that'sD
The regiment gallantly bearingG
The neat little title of Pat'sD
-
A bit of the man who has neighboredF
With mountains and forests and streamsH
A touch of the man who has laboredF
To model and fashion his dreamsH
The strength of an age of clean livingG
Of right minded fatherly chatsD
The best that a land could be givingG
Is there in the breasts of the Pat'sD
