Told me how that big beauty fought | G |
And almost broke his silken line | F |
Spoke of the trees and sky and thought | G |
Them proof of life and power divine | F |

And birds as people talk of men | I |
Discussed the busy ways of bees | H |
Wondered what lies beyond our ken | I |
Where is the land no mortal sees | H |
And shall we come this way again | I |

The strife for splendor and for style | J |
The ticker and the telegram | K |
I come for just a little while | J |

Friends that have seen him at his best | L |
Believe they know his every plan | A |
I know him better than the rest | L |
