The Auto Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDDEEFFGGHHIJKK LLAA

An auto is a helpful thingA
I love the way the motor humsB
I love each cushion and each springA
The way it goes the way it comesB
It saves me many a dreary mileC
It brings me quickly to the smileC
Of those at home and every dayD
It adds unto my time for playD
It keeps me with my friends in touchE
No journey now appears too muchE
To make with meetings at the endF
It gives me time to be a friendF
It laughs at distance and has powerG
To lengthen every fleeting hourG
It bears me into country newH
That otherwise I'd never viewH
It's swift and sturdy and it strivesI
To fill with happiness our livesJ
When for the doctor we've a needK
It brings him to our door with speedK
It saves us hours of anxious careL
And heavy heartache and despairL
It has its faults but still I singA
The auto is a helpful thingA
