Song Of The Many Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBBBBCDCD EFGFHCHCIJIJ ABABCKCKLDLD

This is the song of the manyA
Who seldom are mentioned in praiseB
The glorious millions of toilersB
Who splendidly live out their daysB
The millions unlured by great richesB
Uneager for fame or applauseB
Not seeking for history's nichesB
Forever upholding a causeB
The many who bravely are bearingC
The duties of life as they plodD
Contentedly gayly wayfaringC
With faith in their country and GodD
-
The millions unnoticed unheededE
Who cheerfully tramp to and froF
Always found at their posts when they're neededG
Not seeking for glamour or showF
Good fathers devoted and tenderH
And rightfully proud of their youngC
Yes these are the men that engenderH
The spirit that ought to be sungC
Men who live for the dear ones who love themI
Their happiness being their goalJ
Yes these though we hear little of themI
Are the men that we ought to extolJ
-
But few in the world attain gloryA
But few ever sink in disgraceB
Compared to the ones who grow hoaryA
In quietly filling a placeB
In unselfishly splendidly livingC
And honestly facing life's testK
The many who daily are givingC
The world every bit of their bestK
Yes these are the men I would sing toL
The many who cheerfully plodD
O'er life's highway contented to cling toL
Their faith in their country and GodD
