September Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDEFD GHGHIIJKKJ LMLMNNOHOOH

SEPTEMBER with her brushes dipped in dazzling red and goldA
Now comes to paint the valleys and the hillsB
And we forget completely that the year is getting oldA
As we gaze upon the color that she spillsB
For all that we rememberC
Are the glories of SeptemberC
The bloom upon the peaches and the gold upon the grainD
The apples red with blushesE
From September's crimson brushesF
The glory of the hill tops and the splendor of the plainD
-
September magic artist comes again to paint the treesG
Comes again to crown with beauty Mother EarthH
And she'll touch with gold or crimson every humble plant she seesG
Without questioning its merit or its worthH
And the eye that looks to seeI
On the frailest little treeI
Will behold a touch of glory where September it caressedJ
And the poorest little bloomK
That is soon to meet its doomK
Will be nodding in the sunshine with the proudest richly dressedJ
-
And September makes me think as I watch her splashing paintsL
Over every living thing underneath the skies todayM
That the poorest of us here when he goes to join the saintsL
Will receive a touch of glory in the very self same wayM
That the humblest of the lotN
In the end won't be forgotN
As September crowns with beauty all the works ofO
Mother EarthH
So the gentle God aboveO
In His mercy and His loveO
In the frailest of his creatures will find something that's of worthH
