You have given me riches and easeA
You have given me joys through the yearsB
I have sat in the shade of your treesA
With the song of your birds in my earsB
I have drunk of your bountiful wineC
And done as I've chosen to doD
But oh wonderful country of mineC
'How little have I done for youD
-
You have given me safe harbor from harmE
Untroubled I've slept through the nightsF
And have waked to the new morning's charmE
And claimed as my own its delightsF
I have taken the finest of fineC
From your orchards and fields where it grewD
But oh wonderful country of mineC
How little I've given to youD
-
You have given me a home and a placeG
Where in safety my babies may playH
Health blooms on each bright dimpled faceG
And laughter is theirs every dayH
You have guarded from danger the shrineC
Where I worship when toiling is throughD
But oh wonderful country of mineC
How little have I done for youD
-
I have taken your gifts without thoughtI
I have revelled in joys that you gaveJ
That I see now with blood had been boughtK
The blood of your earlier bravesL
I have lived without making one signC
That the source of my riches I knewD
Now oh wonderful country of mineC
I'm here to do something for youD
