Real Help Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDEEF GHGICCDJJF KLKLCCDBBF

If you can smooth his path a bitA
Bring laughter to his worried faceB
Restore today his stock of gritA
And help him all his troubles chaseB
If you can speak one word of praiseC
That shall his drooping spirits raiseC
And warm his heart with cheerD
You have done more than they will doE
Who'll sighing rush some day to strewE
Red roses on his bierF
-
If you stretch out a hand to himG
Today when he is plodding onH
When everything seems dark and grimG
And hope is very nearly goneI
If you go to him where he staysC
And speak the little word of praiseC
That now may banish fearD
You will have done more good than theyJ
Who'll rush to praise his lifeless clayJ
And strew with flowers his bierF
-
If you will note the good you seeK
In him today while yet he livesL
If you will be the friend you'll beK
When death to him the summons givesL
While he is here to hear your praiseC
To profit by your kindly waysC
You'll not seem insincereD
If when death's smile is on his faceB
You rush to be the first to placeB
Red roses on his bierF
