Over Here Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEBB FGFGBB AHAHII CJCKLL

Pledged to the bravest and the bestA
We stand who cannot share the frayB
Staunch for the danger and the testA
For them at night we kneel and prayB
Be with them Lord who serve the truthC
And make us worthy of our youthC
-
Here mother love and father loveD
Unite in love of country nowE
Here to the flag that flies aboveD
Our heads we reverently bowE
Here as one people night and dayB
For victory we work and prayB
-
Nor race nor creed shall difference makeF
Nor bigot mar the zealot's planG
We give our all for Freedom's sakeF
Each man a king each king a manG
Make us the equal Lord we prayB
Of them who die for truth to dayB
-
Let us as gladly give our bestA
Let us as bravely pay the priceH
As they who in the bitter testA
Meet the supremest sacrificeH
Oh God Wherever we are ledI
Let us be worthy of our deadI
-
Let us not compromise the truthC
Let us not cringe so much in fearJ
That foes may whisper to our youthC
That we have failed in courage hereK
Lord strengthen us that they may knowL
Our spirits follow where they goL
