My Plan Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AAABCCCB DDDBEEEB AAABFFFB| When I wanted something I couldn't buy | A |
| A suit of clothes or a Sunday tie | A |
| Or a new straw hat when the sun was high | A |
| I used to feel sore about it | B |
| I used to go 'round with a face drawn long | C |
| And vow that everything here was wrong | C |
| And this was the theme of my dismal song | C |
| I can't get along without it | B |
| - | |
| When I've been broke which has oft occurred | D |
| I never could utter a cheerful word | D |
| I grouched all day which was most absurd | D |
| And kicked up a fuss about it | B |
| I thought what I wanted and couldn't get | E |
| Was reason enough to fume and fret | E |
| So I fretted and fumed all day and yet | E |
| I managed to do without it | B |
| - | |
| Now whatever I want that I cannot buy | A |
| A suit of clothes or a Sunday tie | A |
| Or a new straw hat when the sun is high | A |
| I don't say a word about it | B |
| I've found that my wants needn't interfere | F |
| With my daily fun on this hemisphere | F |
| What I can't afford doesn't spoil my cheer | F |
| I just get along without it | B |
