Mary Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEC FFGHIIJH BBKFLLBF MMLCFFBC

She was gentle she was trueA
And her tender eyes of blueA
Seemed to mock the morning sunbeamsB
And the starlight of the nightC
And her laughter seemed to trillD
Like the ripple of the rillD
And there never was a troubleE
That she didn't make all rightC
-
What though rough had been my wayF
And the bitter hours of dayF
Had depressed my coward spiritG
Till it only saw the gloomH
She could lift me from the strifeI
And bring back the joy of lifeI
For her smiling presence brightenedJ
And made radiant the roomH
-
Oh so simple were her waysB
Oh so merry were the daysB
That we trod life's lane togetherK
Hand in hand like children gayF
But my troubles seem to beL
Mountain high today to meL
For there are no happy eveningsB
When we laugh them all awayF
-
Now the sunbeams dance and smileM
But I'm looking all the whileM
For the soft blue eyes of MaryL
Who has passed beyond the nightC
But I bravely tread my wayF
For I know there'll come a dayF
When she'll laugh away my sorrowsB
And make all my burdens lightC
