Lonely Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDE AFA GHGH AIAIJKJK ALAMNENE

The walls have seemed to say to meA
Where have the sticky fingers goneB
That always found their way to meA
And left their prints to gaze uponC
The halls have worn a gloomy airD
And seemed like tunnels dark and blackE
And it has seemed that every chairD
Has asked me when they're coming backE
-
The stairs have seemed to speak to meA
Each night as I have climbed aloneF
And pitifully squeak to meA
'Where have the little people flown '-
The beds all smooth and sternly keptG
Have said with faces drawn and whiteH
Where are the curly heads that sleptG
On us so sweetly every nightH
-
The untouched toys have stared at meA
As if to say the days are longI
And all their dolls have glared at meA
As though accusing me of wrongI
And every rug so straight and stiffJ
Has seemed to sigh for rumpling feetK
And worn a sorry look as ifJ
It missed the mud tracks of the streetK
-
The bird has twittered low to meA
A sort of solemn sad refrainL
As though he tried to show to meA
He wishes they were near againM
But soon the walls and halls and chairsN
Will know once more the charm they lackE
And little feet will race the stairsN
They've sent me word they're coming backE
