Little girls are mighty niceA
Take 'em any way they comeB
They are always worth their priceA
Life without 'em would be glumB
Run earth's lists of treasures throughC
Pile 'em high until they fallD
Gold an' costly jewels tooC
Little girls are best of allD
-
Nothing equals 'em on earthE
I'm an old man an' I knowF
Any little girl is worthE
More than all the gold belowF
Eyes o' blue or brown or grayG
Raven hair or golden curlsH
There's no joy on earth to dayG
Quite so fine as little girlsH
-
Pudgy nose or freckled faceI
Fairy like or plain to seeJ
God has surely blessed the placeI
Where a little girl may beJ
They're the jewels of His crownK
Dropped to earth from heaven aboveL
Like wee angel souls sent downK
To remind us of His loveL
-
God has made some lovely thingsM
Roses red an' skies o' blueC
Trees an' babbling silver springsM
Gardens glistening with dewC
But take every gift to manN
Big an' little great an' smallD
Judge it on its merits an'N
Little girls are best of allD
