Little Fishermen Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEE FFGGHHII JJKKLLMM NNGGOOPPA little ship goes out to sea | A |
As soon as we have finished tea | A |
Off yonder where the big moon glows | B |
This tiny little vessel goes | B |
But never grown up eyes have seen | C |
The ports to which this ship has been | D |
Upon the shore the old folks stand | E |
Till morning brings it back to land | E |
- | |
In search of smiles this little ship | F |
Each evening starts upon a trip | F |
Just smiles enough to last the day | G |
Is it allowed to bring away | G |
So nightly to some golden shore | H |
It must set out alone for more | H |
And sail the rippling sea for miles | I |
Until the hold is full of smiles | I |
- | |
By gentle hands the sails are spread | J |
The stars are glistening overhead | J |
And in that hour when tiny ships | K |
Prepare to make their evening trips | K |
The sea becomes a wondrous place | L |
As beautiful as mother's face | L |
And all the day's disturbing cries | M |
Give way to soothing lullabies | M |
- | |
No clang of bell or warning shout | N |
Is heard on shore when they put out | N |
The little vessels slip away | G |
As silently as does the day | G |
And all night long on sands of gold | O |
They cast their nets and fill the hold | O |
With smiles and joys beyond compare | P |
To cheer a world that's sad with care | P |
