The world is full of gladnessA
There are joys of many kindsA
There's a cure for every sadnessA
That each troubled mortal findsA
And my little cares grow lighterB
And I cease to fret and sighC
And my eyes with joy grow brighterB
When she makes a lemon pieC

When the bronze is on the fillingD
That's one mass of shining goldE
And its molten joy is spillingD
On the plate my heart grows boldE
And the kids and I in chorusA
Raise one glad exultant cryC
And we cheer the treat before usA
Which is mother's lemon pieC

Then the little troubles vanishF
And the sorrows disappearG
Then we find the grit to banishF
All the cares that hovered nearG
And we smack our lips in pleasureB
O'er a joy no coin can buyC
And we down the golden treasureB
Which is known as lemon pieC
