Gosh but once more I'd like to be | F |
The boy I was in eighty three | F |

Has bronzed 'em all an' says they're done | H |
Not darin' any more to climb | I |
An' pick a few afore their time | I |

The way that healthy youngsters do | J |
Jus' old enough to sit an' wait | K |
An' pick my apple from a plate | K |

Or nippin' 'em when no one's by | B |
Or findin' 'em the time you feel | M |
You really need another meal | M |
Or comin' unexpectedly | F |
Upon a farmer's loaded tree | F |
An' grabbin' all that you can eat | N |
That goes to make an apple sweet | N |
