Food, Clothes And Drink Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCAADDEEFF AAFFGGFFHHIIGG AAJJKKLLMMNNOO

WHAT is food for anywayA
Just to keep us through the dayA
Warm and strong and satisfyB
Hunger whether bread or pieB
Terrapin or chuck steak toughC
When a man has had enoughC
What's it matter anywayA
He can live and toil awayA
Sigh you not for richer fareD
Bread and meat with some to spareD
That is all the system needsE
That gives strength for noble deedsE
And the rich man if you pleaseF
Gets no more from luxuriesF
-
What are clothes for anywayA
Just to keep the wind at bayA
And to hide our nakednessF
Fine or homespun be your dressF
That is all that clothes can doG
They won't help nor hinder youG
Men in torn and tattered ragsF
Oft have borne their country's flagsF
Through the battle fire and comeH
Back unto the sound of drumH
Heroes by the world extolledI
Be your garment new or oldI
Still fight on with purpose trueG
Finer dress can't conquer youG
-
What is drink for anywayA
Just to quench your thirst by dayA
Here is water drink your fillJ
It will leave you clear eyed stillJ
It will moisten lips now parchedK
Though ten thousand miles you've marchedK
Sparkling burgundy or wineL
Or the juice of any vineL
Poured into a crystal cupM
Will not better bear you upM
Will not better quench your thirstN
Better fit you for the worstN
Rich or poor man cannot thinkO
Of or buy a better drinkO
