Bulb Planting Time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEFAGAFHIHIJGJF FAKA

Last night he said the dead were deadA
And scoffed my faith to scornB
I found him at a tulip bedA
When I passed by at mornB
'O ho ' said I 'the frost is nearC
And mist is on the hillsD
And yet I find you planting hereE
Tulips and daffodils 'F
''Tis time to plant them now ' he saidA
'If they shall bloom in Spring'G
'But every bulb ' said I 'seems deadA
And such an ugly thing 'F
'The pulse of life I cannot feelH
The skin is dried and brownI
Now look ' a bulb beneath my heelH
I crushed and trampled downI
In anger then he said to meJ
'You've killed a lovely thingG
A scarlet blossom that would beJ
Some morning in the Spring 'F
'Last night a greater sin was thine 'F
To him I slowly saidA
'You trampled on the dead of mineK
And told me they are deadA
