Beautifying The Flag Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEF GHGHIBIBJKJK LMLMANANFOFO

To us the Flag has little meantA
Each glorious stripe of redB
Was woven there to representA
The blood of heroes deadB
On some dim distant battle lineC
By other men were gainedD
The glories that have made it fineC
And idle we've remainedD
But now the Flag shall finer growE
And ages yet to beF
Shall find the courage that we showE
To day for libertyF
-
Of other men the Flag has toldG
It flies for others' deedsH
Its pride is born of heroes boldG
Who served its by gone needsH
But now our blood shall mingle thereI
With blood of patriots deadB
And through the years each stripe shall wearI
A deeper truer redB
The splendor of the flag shall gleamJ
In every radiant starK
And finer shall the banner seemJ
Because of what we areK
-
To day new glory for the FlagL
We give our best to buildM
Of us shall future ages bragL
By us their blood be thrilledM
And as to us the flag has meantA
The greatness of the pastN
The Stars and Stripes shall representA
Our courage to the lastN
The children in the years to beF
Our trials shall discussO
And cheer the emblem of the freeF
In part because of usO
