once moreA
it ain't that i must lurn to spellB
that makes my hart so orful soarA
it ain't that fracktions i must lurnC
nor jografy that makes me blewD
it 's just becoz today i yurnC
to do the things i didn't dooD
-
ring out wild bell ime on mi wayE
to skule again and summer's doneC
it dussent seem more than a dayE
since i began to have mi funC
i wouldn't mind this cuming backF
it ain't the skule ime kicking onC
it's just becoz i missed a stackF
of fun and now the summer's goneC
-
i planned to bild a coogie inC
our yard where all the kids could meatG
the roof was going to be of tinC
and we 'd have carpet for our feetG
and i was going to organizeH
a brave and daring pirut crewD
and we 'd take rich men bi surprizeH
but gee how fast the summer's flueD
-
and that's the skule bell ringing nowC
vacashun's slipped away from meI
what i acomplisshed anyhowC
is something more than i can seeI
i've had some fun of course but thenC
it really seams to beet the dutchJ
how very little i did whenC
i planned to do so very muchJ
-
Ah little boy you do not knowC
The lesson that you teach us allK
You with unwilling feet now goC
To school at the approach of FallK
We grown ups soon will hear a bellB
Announcing that our course is runC
Far more than death we fear to tellB
The good deeds that we might have doneC
