A Vow Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGDGD HIHIJKJK

I might not ever scale the mountain heightsA
Where all the great men stand in glory nowB
I may not ever gain the world's delightsA
Or win a wreath of laurel for my browB
I may not gain the victories that menC
Are fighting for nor do a thing to boast ofD
I may not get a fortune here but thenC
The little that I have I'll make the most ofD
-
I'll make my little home a palace fineE
My little patch of green a garden fairF
And I shall know each humble plant and vineE
As rich men know their orchid blossoms rareF
My little home may not be much to seeG
Its chimneys may not tower far aboveD
But it will be a mansion great to meG
For in its walls I'll keep a hoard of loveD
-
I will not pass my modest pleasures byH
To grasp at shadows of more splendid thingsI
Disdaining what of joyousness is nighH
Because I am denied the joy of kingsI
But I will laugh and sing my way alongJ
I'll make the most of what is mine to dayK
And if I never rise above the throngJ
I shall have lived a full life anywayK
