A Patriotic Creed Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GGHIJK LLMMCC

To serve my country day by dayA
At any humble post I mayA
To honor and respect her flagB
To live the traits of which I bragB
To be American in deedC
As well as in my printed creedC
-
To stand for truth and honest toilD
To till my little patch of soilD
And keep in mind the debt I oweE
To them who died that I might knowE
My country prosperous and freeF
And passed this heritage to meF
-
I always must in trouble's hourG
Be guided by the men in powerG
For God and country I must liveH
My best for God and country giveI
No act of mine that men may scanJ
Must shame the name AmericanK
-
To do my best and play my partL
American in mind and heartL
To serve the flag and bravely standM
To guard the glory of my landM
To be American in deedC
God grant me strength to keep this creedC
