A Lullaby Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBCBC DEDEFCFC EGEGBCBC

rince waits in commandA
There's a cargo of wonderful dreams in the holdB
For the baby that seeks SlumberlandB
There are fairies in pink and good fairies in whiteB
A watch o'er the baby to keepC
Now the silver sails fill with the breeze of the nightB
All aboard for the Harbor of SleepC
-
I pray that no tempest shall ruffle the seaD
Through the long night that he is awayE
And I pray the good captain will bring him to meD
With a smile at the close of the dayE
Oh soft as his breath be the breezes that blowF
And gentle the long waves that sweepC
The wonderful ship that is waiting to goF
With my babe to the Harbor of SleepC
-
Softly so softly the ship slips awayE
With its silver sails catching the breezeG
The stars in the sky seem to twinkle and sayE
Our watch we will keep o'er the seasG
And never a tempest shall happen this nightB
But peace shall slip down on the deepC
Safe and sound shall return with the coming of lightB
Your babe from the Harbor of SleepC
