Tomrade_: as lily savage in the 80s and 90s paul o’grady was a really important performer and activist in the fight against aids and inadequate aids healthcare. lily savage did numerous benefit gigs that most people will never know about, including 2 in belfast. drag queens for life.
Brummy_dan: for a generation, he was a guy who presented a (really good!) show about dogs. for a previous generation, its impossible to overestimate the impact paul o’grady had on normalising drag culture. without lily savage there’s every chance drag race wouldn’t be mainstream tv.
Generoajeno: whatever happened to glitterbombing dan savage for transphobia and playing into reactionary shit?
