-
-
It hurtsB
-
It s silly but it doesC
-
There was nothing ever there nothing ever lostD
-
Just a bridge built halfway and only time was the costE
-
And now I sit alone as I always wasF
-
Nothing changed yet pain remained as my soul degradesG
-
You re being ridiculous I tell myself This will get you nowhereH
-
It wasn t her fault it wasn t mine it just wasn t meant to beI
-
And yet still I sit here feeling pain all the same letting my life slip away as fail to keep the dreams at bayJ
-
I m writing poetry for the first time over a decade like I m some year old goth kid crying because she didn t feel the same wayJ
-
It s ridiculous I tell myself again even louder You re still alive your heart still beats its not like all is lostD
-
This isn t like me I don t do this I m not the somber typeK
-
I usually just laugh and continue through the strifeL
-
I m privileged I know that very well I have friends family a roof over my head and that s more than most can sayJ
-
Yet I m still writing this poem with stupid tears in my stupid eyes not moving on as I m unable to even tryM
-
I should take some time practice self care that s what they all preachN
-
But I can t but I m not but I don tI
-
Then I realise that for a long time before I even met herO
-
There was a hole in me that I couldn t fill myselfP
-
Did I just want validation Did I just want to feel betterO
-
I loved her I did But I didn t love myselfP
-
This entire thing was one sided unrequited and the hole remainsQ

Poet's note: Wrote it like a year or so ago when I was a bit depressed. Didn't like the idea of sharing it back then but now, looking back on it, I thought it was too funny not to. While that mentality be the reason I'm uploading now, the feelings I felt back then were very real (as cringe as they may be). But I suppose, that's really what this poem means to me in particular. Not something to be observed in a vacuum which, unfortunately, you will all have to (Sowwy ;) ), but rather a reminder of how I was back then, an indication of how far I've come, and a possible glimmer of hope that I can still grow further. So enjoy!
