The Big Black Trawler Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DBDC EBEC FB C DB C

THE very best ship that ever I knewA
Ah way O to me OB
Was a big black trawler with a deep sea crewA
Sing my bullies let the bullgine runC
-
There was one old devil with a broken noseD
Ah way O to me OB
He was four score years as I supposeD
But sing my bullies let the bullgine runC
-
-
We was wrecked last March in a Polar stormE
Ah way O to me OB
And we asked the old cripple if his feet was warmE
Sing my bullies let the bullgine runC
-
And the old old devil he was ninety at the mostF
Ah way O to me OB
Roars ' Ay warm as a lickle piece of toast '-
So sing my bullies let the bullgine runC
-
' For I soaked my sea boots and my dungareesD
Ah way O to me OB
In the good salt water that the Lord don't freeze '-
Oh sing my bullies let the bullgine runC
