Oh you who are born of the blood of the gods, Trojan son of Anchises, easy is the descent to Hell the door of dark Dis stands open day and night. But to retrace your steps and come out to the air above, that is work, that is labor

The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep,And miles to go before I sleepAnd miles to go before I sleep.
~ Robert Frost ~
The light which puts out our eyes is darkness to us. Only that day dawns to which we are awake. There is more day to dawn. The sun is but a morning star.
~ Henry David Thoreau ~
-
Surely your gladness need not be the less for the thought that you will one day see a brighter dawn than this - when lovelier sights will meet your eyes than any waving trees or rippling waters - when angel-hands shall undraw your curtains, and sweeter tones than ever loving Mother breathed shall wake you to a new and glorious day - and when all the sadness, and the sin, that darkened life on this little earth, shall be forgotten like the dreams of a night that is past!
~ Lewis Carroll ~

Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket--safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.
~ C. S. Lewis ~

It is the mind that makes the body rich; and as the sun breaks through the darkest clouds, so honor peereth in the meanest habit.

I see her not dispirited, not weak, but well, remembering that she has seen dark times before, indeed with a kind of instinct that she sees a little better in a cloudy day.

Everyone has a talent. What is rare is the courage to nurture it in solitude and to follow the talent to the dark places where it leads.
~ Erica Jong ~
Beauty is a form of genius--is higher, indeed, than genius, as it needs no explanation. It is of the great facts in the world like sunlight, or springtime, or the reflection in dark water of that silver shell we call the moon.
~ Oscar Wilde ~
Darker and darker but nearer it gets to the brighter
a midnight before a dawn.

The power of specks of dirt can build a seed that was rejected for years, turning that dark time into a huge shed for beautiful birds to nest in, and provisions that sustain the nation in just a twinkle of an eye.
Give me that dirt and watch me bloom!!!

Every person at a point breaks. So much broken that the heart shatters into pieces and the pain is inevitable. But you know what the good thing about the broken heart is? It shines more brighter! Just think if a single heart shines it can brighten your body; but if the broken pieces shine together it brightens your whole of the body and soul. It's just you have to push yourself out of the dark and make it shine brighter and brighter!!
~ Shilpi Rani ~
Darkness is a trap, once you get in, it's hard to escape to light, unless you know the path.
