The Worst Of Every Kind

Obagha Chiamaka

Every dog has it's day indeed,
And sometimes bad luck comes our way,
You find people running from war and suffering from starvation,
How heartbreaking it is to discover,
That behind all those smiles of our friends,
Lives the nefarious mind of a jealous frenemy.
What could be so devastating,
Than losing all your hard earned savings,
Being the victim to a lazy, desperate thief.
Did you ever think of the trauma,
Of being abused by a heartless rapist,
Or losing a baby at the very moment of birth?
Yet the worst of every kind is when,
'May God rest his soul', is said at the mention of one's name.
