Spanish Lips

Marlon Pitter

“I'm in love with you, darling,” that's what I told you.
The sun was shining through the summerhouse.
Your Spanish lips were as pretty as a red carnation.

“I love you too,” that’s what you said to me.
You sat down beside me on a wooden bench.
I felt your passionate embrace in the morning.

You were wearing a long yellow satin dress with a bow.
And you had a bouquet in your left hand.
I looked at you for a while and then I said yes.

“I’ll love and cherish you for the rest of my life,”
That was the promise we made in the garden.
And then I kissed your Spanish lips softly.
