Scatter My Ashes

Geoffrey Heath Price

Scatter my ashes
Where Emily walked
Where Emily laughed
Where Emily talked
By the waterfall
And up on the heights
Where wild birds call
On warm summer nights.
**********
No light in the hallway
No key in the door
Moonlight falls softly
On a cold stone floor.
Voices pour forth
From Emily’s time
Erratic in volume
Yet always in rhyme.
Speaking of sickness
Sadness, despair
Of tears and of laughter
Compassion and care.
**********
Scatter my ashes
Where Emily walked
Where Emily laughed
Where Emily talked.
