Gilded Poison

Afe Tosin Shola

Beauty flows like a scorching river,
Marred by blots and spots, by dark and light,
Yet pulsing with the flicker of a star.

They walk a path where shadows dwell,
Shining like gold, though rot eats the core;
A display of grace to mask the bitter well.

With every curve of their hollow frames,
They lead the blind down ruined ways.
