African Balloon Boys

When the sun rises up from its bed
Sooner or later, the scientists scream'd
Racing from the cave of the night
They assembled at the eyes of the yellow sun
And brought with them the kit
Stirring the laundry pigment with a hollow rod
Sipping it halfway then in the air
Bubbled to manufacture touchless balloons,
The scientists hither and thither ran
Chasing the balloons chirping queer cheers.

Poet's note: This is a dedication to young African children especially in my homestead who struggle inventing all that they imagine in juxtaposition to white's technology.
