Unwatered Roses

Even the greatest designer
Who remains a legend till date
Always will be,
Knows the vitality of our fate
Contribution we lay to this world.

On the agenda of success
A tremendous role we play
Instead we wilt,
Left unwatered in this clay
However you want us to shine.

A source of scent and beauty
Undeniable cream de la cream,
Crazy it is you slash us
Like grass across the stream
Forgetting sweet juices we brew.

Time and time we fed up,
Watching you fail
A duty attached to you spiritually
To make a trail
Blue prints of our joy and happy tears.

So we stay firm,
In this desert enjoying a friendly heat
Survivors by nature;
Hopes of earning a seat
Never stop to trickle

Poet's note: As the world recognises 16 days of activism; a campaign against gender based violence; I wrote a poem titled unwatered roses. The poem has a feminine perspective of a struggling girl or woman pleading for change, as it holds imagery; attributing women and girls as flowers that remain unwatered even though they mean a lot to the ecosystem. Women and girls' voice matters and demands our attention as men.
