Shades Of Red

Sat on my bed in a dark night
Filled with memories of fantasies,
Dreams of perfumed roses on our feet,
You’re the Fragrance on my nostrils.
Biting my thumb, contemplating in silence
About what once was preached;
“Decisions in life aren’t always black
And white; shades of grey are involved.”
Then what about shades of red?
Red is a stimulant of romance
Survived a test of longevity
With no replacement or expiry date.
Well you’re the guts of my unearthed faith
For sure! Red is the color of your smile that charmed my heart.

Poet's note: The Poem is coming from a food for thought I had a certain day. I was thinking about an Expression that says, Decisions in life are not always black and white but shades of grey are involved; then I said what about love? From shades of grey I said love could be shades of red.
