Mirroring Tears

On an expedition,
He landed on the world of all extremes;
Right and wrong,
Sent to all souls, with no regard
Of boarders and boundaries
A master of all,
Healer of subversives and harlots
As she dropped tears on his feet,
a fresh and new beginning, the greatest turning point.

Mysteriously, miraculously he ministered,
Better than all men,
Divine power on his tongue.
As he dropped tears in front of a corpse
and shouted, “Take away the stone!”
A new life began in the resting skeleton.

Sorrowful it was,
when thousands back-stabbed him
unscrupulous leaders,
associated him with villains
As a few shed tears,
In his moment of pain and sorrow
Evoked tears of repentance for their children’s mischief.

At the setting of the sun,
heroically executed in the face of all,
waiting to awake saints,
He looked up above,
As he wept for being forsaken,
the holy tears mirrored redemption.

Poet's note: Born in Biblical religion, my bedtime stories as a child were Bible Stories. Lately, in my late teens I wrote this poem celebrating the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross symbolising courage and utmost love for mankind.
